Special Federal Emergency Appropriation

Budget Highlights

The Special Federal Emergency Appropriation provides authority for the disbursement of funds received from the Federal government in the event of an emergency affecting the State of New York, such as a natural or man-made disaster, including public health emergencies. In addition, there is authority for the disbursement of funds received from the Federal government in the event unrestricted federal aid is received in an amount greater than assumed in the financial plan to provide for the modification or restoration of identified spending reductions or tax increases. The FY 2022 Executive Budget recommends appropriations totaling $44 billion.
