Nonprofit Infrastructure Capital Investment Program
skip breadcrumbsMission
The FY 2016 Executive Budget authorized the creation of the Nonprofit Infrastructure Capital Investment Program (NICIP) to make targeted investments in capital projects that will improve the quality, efficiency, and accessibility of nonprofit human services organizations that provide direct services to New Yorkers. Targeted investments include renovations or expansions of existing space used for direct program services; modifications to provide for sustainable, efficient spaces that would result in overall energy and cost savings; accessibility renovations; and technology upgrades to improve electronic records, data analysis, and/or confidentiality.
Budget Highlights
The FY 2018 Executive Budget includes a $100 million reappropriation for NICIP. In December 2016, $100 million was awarded through a competitive process to 237 nonprofit human services organizations across the State. This funding for capital projects will improve nonprofit organizations’ physical and technological infrastructure in order to allow them to better serve some of the most vulnerable New Yorkers.
