Mission
The protection and advocacy functions of the Commission on Quality of Care and Advocacy for Persons with Disabilities (CQCAPD) are now performed by an entity independent from the State. Pursuant to chapter 501 of the Laws of 2012, the remaining functions, including advocacy and services to support individuals with special needs, were merged into the Justice Center for Protection of People with Special Needs, effective July 2013. See the Justice Center page for additional information.
