Progress Reports – Tug Hill Commission

skip breadcrumbs
  1. Spending Reduction Target
    • The Tug Hill Commission’s (THC) savings target is $93,000, reflecting the Governor’s order for a 10.35 percent reduction in projected agency spending.
    • Savings of $11,000 have been approved and will be achieved by the Commission. Personal Service expenditures comprise most the THC’s annual budget and support its core mission to provide professional technical assistance delivery to small municipalities in a 2,100 square-mile region covering portions of four counties. Additional reductions would necessitate corresponding cuts in personal services expense and would compromise the Commission’s ability to provide these essential services. They will continue, however, to work toward implementing additional savings actions to achieve a portion of their remaining target in a manner that does not compromise their core mission.
  2. Major Savings Initiatives
    • THC has already implemented the following actions to achieve savings.
    • Eliminate Internship Program. ($5,000)
    • Reduce Frequency of Commission Meetings. ($1,100)
    • Reductions in Travel Expenditures. ($2,000)
    • Reductions in other Nonpersonal Service Expenditures. ($3,700)
