  1. Spending Reduction Target
    • The State Commission of Correction’s (SCOC) current-year General Fund savings target is $293,000, reflecting the Governor’s order for a 10.35 percent reduction in projected agency spending. SCOC has already identified actions which achieve $94,000 in savings, and is currently working to achieve the remainder by working in partnership with the Division for Criminal Justice Services. The full savings are expected to be realized.
  2. Major Savings Initiatives
    • SCOC is already in the process of implementing the following actions to achieve their savings target, including:
    • Elimination of one vacant position.
    • Reductions in travel and decreased reliance on contractual clerical staff (savings of $54,000).
