The Office of General Services (OGS) current-year savings target is $15.3 million, reflecting the Governor’s order for a 10.35 percent reduction in projected agency spending. OGS is currently expected to achieve its entire $15.3 million spending reduction target.
Major Savings Initiatives
The Office of General Services has already implemented the following actions to achieve their savings target:
Managing attrition and overtime, and severely limiting hiring will generate savings of $4 million.
Implementing measures to reduce utility consumption by at least 8 percent will result in $1.6 million in savings.
Stretching capital improvements over longer timelines will allow key projects for protection of the State’s infrastructure to proceed, while still generating current year savings of $6.3 million.
Implementing strict spending controls over supplies, travel, contractual services and equipment will result in $3.4 million in savings.
