  1. Spending Reduction Target
    • Targets for the Office of Homeland Security (OHS) and the Office of Cyber Security and Critical Infrastructure (CSCIC) total $2.1 million for the current year, reflecting the Governor’s order for a 10.35 percent reduction in projected agency spending. OHS and CSCIC are expected to meet the combined $2.1 million spending reduction target.
  2. Major Savings Initiatives
    • OHS/CSCIC is currently in the process of implementing the following actions to achieve savings towards their target:
    • Delaying planned construction and technology contracts for the Statewide Preparedness Training Center, and offsetting certain costs of the Center with Federal funds ($521,000).
    • Reducing certain planned initiatives, constraining travel and the purchase of equipment and supplies ($403,000).
    • Reducing spending in the Public Service account by delaying its Public Sector Outreach Initiatives and software purchase for private sector critical infrastructure partners ($60,000).
    • Delaying certain technology contracts within CSCIC in addition to a reduction in travel, training, and supplies ($290,000).
    • Limiting hiring for CSCIC ($112,000).
    • Increasing the Statewide Orthoimagery “refresh” period from once every 4 years to every 4.5 years. ($206,000)
