  1. Spending Reduction Target
    • EFC’s current-year savings target is $800,000, reflecting the Governor’s order for a 10.35 percent reduction in projected agency spending.
    • EFC is expected to exceed its total spending reduction target. To date, savings initiatives of $1 million have been approved, $200,000 above the 10.35% savings target.
  2. Major Savings Initiatives
    • EFC is implementing the following major actions to achieve their savings target:
    • Attrition/Hiring Freeze ($800,000) – EFC has complied with the hiring freeze and will only request filling of mission critical positions.
    • Further savings of $200,000 will be achieved through NPS actions, including reductions in supplies and materials purchases and deferral of equipment maintenance and replacement.
