The DCJS Financial Management Plan achieves its savings target by reducing the agency's workforce target by 4.5 full time employees, and managing the workforce through vacancy controls and lower overtime. Other steps include eliminating lower priority information technology projects; reducing the cost of services provided by the Office for Technology; improving fleet management; using federal funds for a business intelligence project; reducing equipment purchases; and, limiting training programs to essential course offerings.
