Rochester-Finger Lakes Region
- Total NYS School Aid to Rochester-Finger Lakes school districts will increase from $1.5 billion in 2007-08 to $1.6 in 2008-09, an increase of $133.3 million or 8.6%.
- Total STAR property tax relief to the residents of the Rochester-Finger Lakes region will increase from $352.8 million in 2007-08 to $368.7 million in 2008-09, an increase of $15.9 million or 4.5%.
- Total Aid and Incentives for Municipalities (AIM) funding for the Rochester-Finger Lakes region will increase from $99.1 million in 2007-08 to $111.1 million in 2008-09, an increase of $12.0 million or 12.1%.
- Total Aid and Incentives for Municipalities (AIM) funding for the City of Geneva will increase by $138,024 or 7% to $2.1 million in 2008-09.
- Total Aid and Incentives for Municipalities (AIM) funding for the City of Ithaca will increase by $245,963 or 9.5% to $2.8 million in 2008-09.
Monroe County
- Total NYS School Aid to Monroe County school districts will increase from $848.8 million in 2007-08 to $930.6 in 2008-09, an increase of $81.8 or 9.6%.
- Total STAR property tax relief to Monroe County residents will increase from $203.7 in 2007-08 to $216.6 million in 2008-09, an increase of $12.8 million or 5.9%.
- Total Aid and Incentives for Municipalities (AIM) funding for Monroe County residents will increase from $84.8 million in 2007-08 to $95.1 million in 2008-09, an increase of $11.1 million or 13.1%.
- Projected savings for Monroe County for the Medicaid Cap and State takeover of Family Health Plus will total $9.0 million in 2008-09.
- $55 million will be provided to remediate and demolish Midtown Plaza, as part of the Executive Budget’s City-by-City Fund. The telecommunications firm PAETEC will then construct a new world headquarters on a portion of the property, bringing an expected 1,000 jobs to downtown Rochester.
- $25 million will be provided to create a major research center at the University of Rochester, as part of the Executive Budget’s City-by-City Fund. This money will be used toward the construction of a 150,000-square-foot building, which will be the home of the University’s Clinical and Translational Science Institute.
Seneca County
- Projected savings for Seneca County for the Medicaid Cap and State takeover of Family Health Plus will total $1.4 million in 2008-09.
- $431,000 for capital improvements at Cayuga Lake State Park.
- $200,000 for capital improvements at Seneca Lake State Park (also partially located in Ontario County).
Cayuga County
- Projected savings for Cayuga County for the Medicaid Cap and State takeover of Family Health Plus will total $3.1 million in 2008-09.
- $200,000 for capital improvements at Fairhaven Beach State Park.
- The Auburn Residential Center youth facility in Auburn will close in January 2008. This will produce savings of $374,000 in 2008-09 and $1.8 million in 2009-10.
Tompkins County
- Projected savings for Tompkins County for the Medicaid Cap and State takeover of Family Health Plus will total $3.1 million in 2008-09.
- $75,000 for capital improvements at Allan H. Treman State Park.
- $150,000 for capital improvements at Black Diamond Trail.
- $150,000 for capital improvements at Buttermilk Falls State Park.
- $550,000 for capital improvements at Taughannock Falls State Park.
- $100,000 for capital improvements at Robert Treman State Park.
- Lansing Residential Center youth facility in Lansing will be downsizing from 100-bed facility to a 50-bed facility. This will save $439,000 in 2008-09 and $2.1 million in 2009-10.
Ontario County
- Projected savings for Ontario County for the Medicaid Cap and State takeover of Family Health Plus will total $3.5 million in 2008-09.
- $50,000 for capital improvements at Honeoye Lake State Park.
- $100,000 for capital improvements at Sampson State Park.
- $1.8 million for Sonnenberg Gardens State Park.
Schuyler County
- $300,000 for capital improvements at Watkins Glen State Park.
Livingston County
- $6.4 million for capital improvements at Letchworth State Park.
City of Rochester
- Total NYS School Aid to the City of Rochester school districts will increase from $411.7 in 2007-08 to $447.4 in 2008-09, an increase of 35.6 million or 8.6%.
- Total Aid and Incentives for Municipalities (AIM) funding for the City of Rochester will increase from $81.2 million in 2007-08 to $92.2 million in 2008-09, an increase of $10.9 million or 13.5%.
- Allows the City of Rochester to install up to 50 “red light cameras” that document traffic violations. These devices will help improve roadway safety and are projected to produce $3.5 million in additional revenue for the city.
