Western New York Region
- Total NYS School Aid to Western New York school districts will increase from $1.8 billon in 2007-08 to $1.9 billion in 2008-09, an increase of $134.2 million or 7.2%.
- Total STAR property tax relief to Western New York residents will increase from $350.4 million in 2007-08 to $373.2 million in 2008-09, an increase of $22.8 million or 6.5%.
- Total Aid and Incentives for Municipalities (AIM) funding for Western New York residents will increase from $217.5 million in 2007-08 to $225.1 million in 2008-09, an increase of $7.6 million or 3.5%.
- A total of $26.8 million for capital improvements at parks and historic sites throughout Western New York.
Erie County
- Total NYS School Aid to Erie County school districts will increase from $1.0 billion in 2007-08 to $1.1 billion in 2008-09, an increase of $76.4 million or 7.0%.
- Total STAR property tax relief to Erie County residents will increase from $201.0 million in 2007-08 to $215.0 in 2008-09, an increase of $13.9 million or 6.5%.
- Total Aid and Incentives for Municipalities (AIM) funding for Erie County residents will increase from $169.1 million in 2007-08 to $184.0 million in 2008-09, an increase of $14.9 million or 8.8%.
- Projected savings for Erie County for the Medicaid Cap and State takeover of Family Health Plus will total $25.2 million in 2008-09.
- $15 million for inner and outer harbor revitalization efforts in the City of Buffalo, as part of the Executive Budget’s City-by-City Fund.
- $150,000 for capital improvements at Big Six Marina.
- $1.1 million for capital improvements at Beaver Island State Park.
- $2.38 million for capital improvements at Evangola State Park.
- $450,000 for capital improvements at Knox Farm State Park.
- $50,000 for capital improvements at Woodlawn Beach State Park.
City of Buffalo
- Total NYS School Aid to the City of Buffalo will increase from $559.8 million in 2007-08 to $593.9 million in 2008-09, an increase of $34.0 million or 6.0%.
- Total Aid and Incentives for Municipalities (AIM) funding for City of Buffalo will increase from $155.0 million in 2007-08 to $169.0 million in 2008-09, an increase of $13.9 million or 9%.
- Allows the City of Buffalo to install up to 50 “red light cameras” that document traffic violations. These devices will help improve roadway safety and are projected to produce $3.5 million in additional revenue for the city.
Niagara County
- Total NYS School Aid to Niagara County school districts will increase from $275.0 in 2007-08 to $290.1 in 2008-09, an increase of $15.0 million or 5.4%.
- Total STAR property tax relief to Niagara County residents will increase from $63.4 million in 2007-08 to $67.4 million in 2008-09, an increase of $3.9 million or 5.9%.
- Total Aid and Incentives for Municipalities (AIM) funding for Niagara County will increase from $24.6 million in 2007-08 to $26.8 million in 2008-09, an increase of $2.2 million or 9.2%.
- Projected savings for Niagara County for the Medicaid Cap and State takeover of Family Health Plus will total $9.2 million in 2008-09.
- Total Aid and Incentives for Municipalities (AIM) funding for the City of Lockport will increase from $2.5 million in 2007-08 to $2.8 million in 2008-09, an increase of $296,899 or 11.5%.
- $470,000 for capital improvements at Artpark.
- $900,000 for capital improvements at DeVeaux Woods State Park.
- $1 million for capital improvements at Fort Niagara State Park
- $440,370 for capital improvements at Four Mile Creek State Park.
- $200,000 for capital improvements at Joe Davis State Park.
- $10.55 million for capital improvements at Niagara Falls Reservation State Park
- $1.15 million for capital improvements at Whirlpool State Park.
Cattaraugus County
- Total Aid and Incentives for Municipalities (AIM) funding for Cattaraugus County will increase by $247,721 or 6.7% to $3.9 million in 2008-09.
- Projected savings for Cattaraugus County for the Medicaid Cap and State takeover of Family Health Plus will total $3.7 million in 2008-09.
- The Great Valley Residential Center youth facility in Great Valley will close in January 2008. This will produce savings of $373,000 in 2008-09 and $1.8 million in 2009-10.
- $3.5 million for capital improvements at Allegany State Park.
Chautauqua County
- Projected savings for Chautauqua County for the Medicaid Cap and State takeover of Family Health Plus will total $6.4 million in 2008-09.
- Total Aid and Incentives for Municipalities (AIM) funding for the City of Dunkirk will increase by $176,483 million or 11.5% to $1.7 million in 2008-09.
- $400,000 for capital improvements at Midway State Park.
COUNTIES INCLUDE: CATTARAUGUS, CHAUTAUQUA, ERIE, GENESEE, NIAGARA, WYOMING
